Abstract
This study systematically investigates the cultural inheritance and innovation of Song Dynasty-inspired clothing products based on narrative design methods. By integrating narrative design with Song Dynasty culture, this paper explores the development and application paths of Song culture in clothing design. The research refers to many literature reviews and specific design case studies, using a series of clothing products to verify the feasibility of narrative design. The findings suggest that the intervention of narrative design can effectively integrate the aesthetic concepts and cultural connotations of the Song Dynasty with modern design techniques, resulting in clothing products that embody the charm of Song culture and meet modern aesthetic needs. Further analysis shows that the design of Song-style clothing can achieve cultural narration through three narrative elements: structure, colour, and material, thereby enhancing the cultural connotation and emotional resonance of the clothing. This study provides theoretical support and design references for the innovative application of Song culture in modern clothing product design.
